L'enseignement des pratiques interprofessionnelles dans son milieu de travail
The University of Ottawa belongs to a group called the “Consortium national de formation en santé” (CNFS) made up of other Francophone colleges and universities from across Canada. The mandate of this national consortium for health training in French is to provide Francophones with improved access to post-secondary education in French in health-related disciplines.
Over the years, the Centre for Innovative Pedagogies and Digital Learning (CIPDL) has developed a variety of online workshops or the CNFS. The workshops are aimed at health-care professionals across Canada who want to improve their preceptor skills in French.
This is a series that targets health-care professionals wanting to change the interprofessional paradigm in their workplace:
- The 1st workshop serves as an introduction to the theoretical framework.
- The 2nd workshop allows participants to plan and apply their plan in the workplace.
Choice / Challenge:
Challenge: All of the workshops are offered completely online to health-care professionals across Canada who have very different work schedules. Additional challenges included multiple time zones and remote areas without high-speed Internet access. To overcome these challenges, asynchronous communication tools were chosen as well as multimedia that could meet dial-up access requirements.
Approach: Participants must develop a concept map. They then analyze that map to reach an implementation plan for interprofessional practices.
A modular approach was chosen to address the time management issues these health-care professionals face. They are stand-alone units which combine elements of constructivism and behaviorism.
