Program Evaluation and Development

Curriculum design or development and program reviews can be challenging, yet inspiring. When creating a new program or modifying an existing one, we can help you by providing clear, well-defined techniques, tools and processes that will be tailored to your needs. We integrate best practices in the field that are based on research and several years of experience at the University of Ottawa. We will help facilitate dialogue and reflection that can move the project forward, while integrating current research and needs analysis, and providing an objective eye on devising a plan of action.

In so doing, we will help you to stay in the boundaries of the University of Ottawa Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) and the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance.

We can also assist you in the process of curriculum mapping and curriculum analysis, leading to a concise description of curriculum coherence for a new or existing program. Our services in program development, review or modification consist of pedagogical strategies, reporting tools and facilitated dialogue and meetings that are tailored to your program’s and discipline’s needs aimed at providing students with an enhanced university experience.

As part of our services, we offer support with the cyclical program review that occurs about every eight years. This self-assessment and peer review process focuses on the quality and consistency of the program and its compliance with the Council of Ontario Universities degree level expectations.
